Ipswich boss Mick McCarthy is pleased with his side after they hung on for a valuable 2-1 win away to Charlton.

Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy has declared himself pleased with his side after they beat Charlton 2-1 this afternoon.

DJ Campbell and Daryl Murphy both scored to make it just one loss in seven games for the Tractor Boys, edging them further away from the relegation zone.

McCarthy believes that their current form will increase the side's self belief and is hopeful of extending their run for as long as possible.

"The self-belief comes with winning games," said McCarthy.

"It doesn't come from me, it comes from within. They are professional players and it helps when you are winning, or at least putting in decent performances.

"It gets a bit flaky at times and you wonder if you are going to be able to hang on. But they did and I'm pleased with them."

The result leaves Ipswich 20th in the Championship table, five points clear of the bottom three.
