Middlesbrough have announced that they are on the verge of signing Adam Clayton from Huddersfield Town.
The 25-year-old midfielder will complete his switch to the North East tomorrow, with Jacob Butterfield moving in the opposite direction.
"Boro are in the final stages of completing the transfer of 25-year-old Huddersfield midfielder Adam Clayton, with Jacob Butterfield expected to move in the opposite direction," read a statement on the Boro website.
"The clubs hope to put the finishing touches to the move tomorrow."
Reports suggest that Clayton was due to join Boro earlier this week, but the deal was stalled when he allegedly failed to turn up for his medical.
