Hibernian have fired Jack Ross following a string of poor results in the Scottish Premiership.

Hibernian have officially sacked head coach Jack Ross today, with the club sat in seventh place in the Scottish Premiership.

The Hibees have only managed to win once in their previous nine matches in all competitions; however, the club have managed to reach the Scottish League Cup final.

Despite that, Ross has been let go, having originally taken over as head coach back in November 2019, guiding the club to third place last season.

Hibernian released a statement: "Following the prolonged run of poor results in the league, the club has taken the tough decision to relieve Jack Ross of his duties.

"We wish them all the best in their future endeavours. The club will now look to appoint a new manager to take the club and this talented young squad forward and a further update will be provided in due course."

It was also confirmed that his assistant John Potter will be leaving and David Gray is set to take control of the team on a temporary basis.

Hibernian will face Celtic on Sunday, 19 December in the Scottish League Cup final and it remains to be seen whether a new permanent manager is named by that point.
