Germany midfielder Julian Draxler has backed fellow countryman Mesut Ozil to "deliver" at the World Cup.
Ozil, despite suffering a recent knee injury, was declared fit by manager Joachim Low on Saturday and could play a part in Germany's opening game against Mexico on Sunday.
Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Draxler told the Evening Standard that Ozil is an "exceptional player" who will carry his team deep into the World Cup.
"All the noise about Mesut being subdued and not up to his best is not true and has been way over the top," the 24-year-old said.
"The debate about his body language has been raging for a couple of years but he is an exceptional player.
"He has technical abilities that are unparalleled. He's probably our most creative player. He will be there when we need him and he will deliver."
Germany's tie with Mexico is followed by games against Sweden and South Korea.
