Toni Kroos has admitted that there is no explanation for Germany's failure to hold out for three points in their Euro 2016 qualifier against the Republic of Ireland.
The 24-year-old midfielder fired the world champions ahead with 20 minutes remaining last night, although John O'Shea popped up deep in injury time to rescue the visitors a share of the spoils.
"We're incredibly disappointed," Kroos told reporters following the game. "That was needless as we played well for long periods. But once we went in front we started doing everything differently. There's no explaining it. But for long spells, we showed what we're capable of."
Ireland are currently second in Group D, while Germany are down in fourth place.
