Former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has rejected a couple of approaches from Fulham to take over as their new manager, according to a report.

Championship-bound Fulham have reportedly failed in their latest attempt to persuade Arsene Wenger to take over as their new manager.

The Cottagers are currently without a permanent boss, having handed the job to Scott Parker on a caretaker basis following Claudio Ranieri's exit in February.

Fulham first made contact with Wenger before appointing Ranieri in November, according to the Daily Mail, and they recently made a fresh approach, despite their relegation from the Premier League being confirmed.

However, the Frenchman said no to both offers and the South London outfit are rumoured to be looking elsewhere for another big-name manager to guide them back into the top tier.

A separate report suggests that Wenger has not ruled out the possibility of returning to the Premier League, where he spent 22 years in charge of Arsenal, and the Newcastle United job - which could become vacant if Rafael Benitez does not sign a new deal in the next few weeks - interests him.
