Mamadou Sakho: 'We need to increase our intensity'

France defender Mamadou Sakho believes that his side need to take their game to the next level in their World Cup quarter-final clash with Germany.

France defender Mamadou Sakho has expressed his belief that his side need to increase the intensity of their game in their World Cup quarter-final showdown with Germany.

Didier Deschamps's side cruised into the last eight of the tournament with a 2-0 win over Nigeria, maintaining their fine form from the group stage.

However, the 24-year-old has insisted that he and his teammates need to take their game to the next level against Joachim Low's men.

Sakho told FIFA.com: "It'll be an interesting match. They've got lots of good young players, but so do we. We just have to stick to what we're great at, play our usual game and not get carried away.

"We need to continue what we've been doing since the outset, but adding in a bit of extra focus, determination and aggression."

France take on Germany in Rio de Janeiro later today.
