Fluminense vs. Juventude (Wednesday, 11.00pm)
© Reuters
Relegation-threatened Juventude head to the Maracana in search of their first win in the Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A campaign in over two months when they clash with Fluminense on Wednesday.
A pair of late tallies in each half enabled Flu to move ahead of Flamengo and into third place in the table, beating the Copa Libertadores finalists in their previous encounter 2-1, while Juve are bottom of the standings and nine points behind the relegation line.
We say: Fluminense 3-1 Juventude
Losing two regulars to your backline is a lot to overcome, but luckily for Flu, Juventude have been poor in the attacking third all season, scoring the second-fewest goals (21) while also allowing the most (45).
Expect Cano to have more than his share of scoring opportunities in this one, and he rarely misses the chances presented to him.

Corinthians vs. Atletico GO (Wednesday, 11.00pm)
© Reuters
Corinthians will wrap up the month of September with a chance to move into a top-four position in the Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A when they host Atletico Goianiense on Wednesday at Corinthians Arena.
Timao are winless in their last three domestic fixtures, losing 1-0 in their previous encounter versus America Mineiro, while Dragao have lost four straight league matches after falling 2-1 versus Internacional.
We say: Corinthians 2-0 Atletico Goianiense
Dragao appear to have lost their confidence since they exited the Copa Sudamericana in such devastating fashion against Sao Paulo
Even though Goianiense have collected some positive results at Corinthians Arena, we believe Timao will pull out the victory because they are in much better form, while showing more consistency throughout the domestic campaign.

Fortaleza vs. Flamengo (Wednesday, 11.00pm)
© Reuters
Fortaleza have a chance to defeat Flamengo at Arena Castelao for the first time in the Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A since 2005 when the two sides meet on Wednesday.
After being in the relegation zone for a good portion of the domestic campaign, the team from Ceara are now three points above that line, while the Copa Libertadores finalists currently sit in fourth and are trailing the league leaders Palmeiras by 12 points.
We say: Fortaleza 1-2 Flamengo
Expect Fortaleza to play in a tight defensive setup in an attempt to frustrate Flamengo, who have plenty of attacking options to call on.
We believe the visitors' overall depth and ability to remain composed away from home will be enough to propel them to another road victory on Wednesday.

Coritiba vs. Ceara (Wednesday, 11.00pm)
© Reuters
On Wednesday, Coritiba have an opportunity to extend their home winning streak to three games and, more importantly, remain above the relegation zone in the Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A when hosting Ceara at Estadio Couto Pereira.
For the time being, the only thing separating Coxa from descent into the second tier of Brazilian football is a single victory, while Vovo are just ahead of them by three points after dropping a 2-0 decision to Sao Paulo.
We say: Coritiba 1-0 Ceara
Both teams are only narrowly above the relegation line, but the margin is much thinner for Guto Ferreira's men, who have been challenging to break down and compact at home, and we expect their desperation will propel them to three points on Wednesday.

Cuiaba vs. America Mineiro (Thursday, 1.00am)
© Reuters
Two sides with contrasting aspirations clash in the Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A on Thursday, as relegation-battlers Cuiaba welcome in-form America Mineiro to Arena Pantanal.
While the hosts are winless in their last five games, the high-flying visitors are looking to extend what is now their longest unbeaten run in the top flight of Brazilian football.
We say: Cuiaba 1-1 America Mineiro
Two sides who are scoring few and conceding fewer of late, we are not expecting a goal fest here.
Even so, as Cuiaba become more desperate for points, particularly in front of their own fans, we can see them pushing for goals, against an America side who are strong enough to resist and respond.

Atletico Mineiro vs. Palmeiras (Thursday, 1.45am)
© Reuters
Defending champions meet runaway leaders in the Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A on Thursday, as seventh-placed Atletico Mineiro host a Palmeiras side with an eight-point advantage at the top.
Having won their second Brazilian league title last season, 50 years after they won their first, the home side find themselves 17 points behind their rampant visitors, who are in pole position for a record-extending 11th championship.
We say: Atletico Mineiro 1-2 Palmeiras
With the hosts failing to win any of their last five home games, and the visitors unbeaten in their last fifteen away, it is hard to look past the runaway league leaders for this one.
It will not be so straightforward due to missing key players, but the quality of Gustavo Scarpa should be enough to take Palmeiras one step closer to another league title.

Internacional vs. Bragantino (Thursday, 1.45am)
© Reuters
Title-chasing Internacional are set to meet bottom-half Bragantino on Wednesday in Brasileiro action.
The hosts are undefeated in their last six games, while the visitors are winless in their last seven.
We say: Internacional 2-1 Bragantino
Internacional are on a brilliant run of form at the moment, and we back them to continue it here given their impeccable home record.
Bragantino will not make it easy for them however, and have proven they can go toe to toe with the better teams in the league with their recent draw against Palmeiras. As such, we predict it to be a narrow victory for the home side.

Goias vs. Botafogo (Thursday, 1.45am)
© Reuters
Two teams separated by just three points in the Brasileiro meet at the Estadio da Serrinha in the early hours of Thursday morning, when Goias host Botafogo.
Maintaining positions in the Copa Sudamericana places will be the order of the day for both sides, as it is shaping up to be a tight battle for the top 12 in the Brasileiro, as we enter the latter part of the season.
We say: Goias 1-1 Botafogo
These two sides are very rarely involved in high-scoring encounters, with Goias' last eight matches and 14 of Botafogo's last 16 matches all seeing three goals or fewer.
They have both become tough to beat in recent weeks though and there is a strong possibility they could cancel each other out in what promises to be a closely-fought affair, with every point valuable at this stage of the season for sides chasing continental qualification.
