Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford insists that his side are too good to be relegated from the Premier League, despite their recent form.

Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has insisted that his side are too good to be relegated from the Premier League, despite their recent form.

The Toffees are without a win since defeating Bournemouth on September 23 and are also without a permanent manager after former boss Ronald Koeman was sacked following the club's 5-2 loss to Arsenal at Goodison Park.

The side have installed David Unsworth as caretaker boss until a replacement is appointed, but Everton sit 18th in the top tier having spent close to £150m in the summer transfer window.

"We are not a club that is going to be in the bottom three for long," Pickford told reporters. "It's just that the luck hasn't come our way yet.

"We are not a side that will be in the bottom three [at the end of the season]. It's a totally different scenario for myself from last season. I think one win will get us to 13th in the league or something.

"That one win can become back-to-back wins. That is where the confidence grows and it starts on Sunday."

Everton play Watford on Sunday following their defeat to Lyon in the Europa League, which confirmed their early exit from the competition.
