Phil Neville has claimed that momentum is a key factor in whether this season will be a special one for Everton.
David Moyes's side booked a place in the FA Cup semi-finals by beating Sunderland this week and Neville believes that they must not rest on their achievement.
The former Manchester United defender said: "You can imagine the massive comedown if we had not got the result at Sunderland.
"It could now be a great end to the season. Now it is about grasping what is in front of us and we have to show some real mettle.
"We have to make sure we keep this momentum going because it is building into something special."
Everton will face Merseyside rivals Liverpool for a spot in the FA Cup final.
