Thomas Ince and Luke Shaw to miss England U21 games

England Under-21 boss Stuart Pearce confirms that Thomas Ince and Luke Shaw will miss his side's clashes with Austria and Romania.

Stuart Pearce has confirmed that Thomas Ince and Luke Shaw will miss England Under-21s' games against Romania and Austria.

The duo picked up their injuries while playing for their respective clubs, Blackpool and Southampton, at the weekend.

Pearce told reporters: "Luke had to pull out of the squad, which was a shame. Tom picked up an injury at the weekend and he wasn't going to be ready for the first game, and only an outside chance to be available for Monday.

"He's also played nigh-on every game for Blackpool this season, so I spoke to Paul [Ince] yesterday and he said that Tom's desperate to be with us, so he'd support what we wanted to do."

The first of the Three Lions' games comes against Romania on Thursday.
