John Terry admits that it will be "a dream come true" captaining England at Euro 2012.

John Terry has said that captaining England at Euro 2012 will be "a dream come true".

The defender was stripped of the armband before last year's World Cup, only to have it handed back to him in March, and the 30-year-old led England during their 2-2 draw with Montenegro on Firday which confirmed their place in next year's finals.

"That's been and gone, all forgotten about, and I'm looking forward to leading England into a major tournament," said Terry.

"It's a dream come true."

Terry has appeared 71 times for the national side since he made his debut in 2003.
