Fabio Capello insists that Scott Parker is part of England's plans after his move to Spurs.

Fabio Capello has admitted that he would have selected Scott Parker for England duty even if he had not made the move from West Ham to Tottenham.

The 30-year-old, who was named Football Writers’ Player of the Year last season, completed a switch to White Hart Lane from the Hammers on the last day of the transfer window.

The England boss was quick to lend his support to Parker’s decision but insists that the midfielder was already a part of his international plans.

"I am happy for him. I am happy for Tottenham and also for West Ham because they got money," Capello told reporters.

"But I selected him when he played for West Ham and I didn't know what would happen in the future. We are happy."

England are gearing up for a Euro 2012 qualifier against Bulgaria on Friday (September 2).
