Tom Ince has told England Under-21 manager Gareth Southgate that he does not want to be considered for selection.
The 23-year-old, who is currently on loan at Derby County from Hull City, is believed to have made the decision because he wants to focus on his club career.
At this moment in time, the winger, who is the son of former England international Paul Ince, has informed the Football Association that he does not want to be included in this summer's European Championships in the Czech Republic.
"I've have had discussions with Tom and his dad over the last week or so and he has decided he does not want to considered for the Under-21s," The Telegraph quotes Southgate as saying.
"I have to say I was surprised. He has obviously been a regular for us all the way through the campaign, but he feels at this moment in time he has got some priorities at club level."
The Young Lions will take on the Czech Republic and Germany during the international break next week.
