Derby County manager Steve McClaren has praised his side's strong start against Charlton Athletic as the Rams secured a 2-0 win in this evening's Championship clash at the iPro Stadium.
Early goals from midfielder Jeff Hendrick and Manchester United loanee Jesse Lingard were enough to give the hosts all three points.
McClaren told the Derby Telegraph after the game: "It was important to start well, we started aggressively and on the front foot.
"We played some great football, they were great goals and then we controlled the game from then on. [My players] kept their patience, didn't panic and dealt with everything that was thrown at them."
The result puts Derby two points clear at the top of the Championship table.
