Derby County defender Jake Buxton will miss the next two months of the season after injuring his knee in Saturday's 3-1 win over Leeds United.

The 27-year-old visited a specialist earlier this week in order to establish the extent of the issue and according to Sky Sports News, the scan has ruled him out until mid-February.

Buxton joined the Rams from Burton Albion in 2009 and has made 17 appearances for the club this season, scoring four goals in the process.

Derby have also recently lost captain Shaun Barker for the season with a knee injury.
