Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew has revealed that he intends to sign more players before the summer transfer window closes.
Pardew has already broken the Eagles' transfer record by signing Yohan Cabaye for £10m, before capturing Chelsea starlet Patrick Bamford on loan for the 2015-16 season.
On Thursday, they welcomed goalkeeper Alex McCarthy from Queens Park Rangers for a reported £3.5m, but speaking to the club's official website, the Palace boss says that he remains in the market.
"We've looked to improve with the signings of Cabaye and Bamford, but I am still hoping to bring in more. We want more competition," he said.
"It's difficult for teams to take our players. We've had players contacting us saying they want to join us, which we've not had before."
Pardew's side kick off the new campaign by facing Premier League new boys Norwich City at Carrow Road on August 8.
