Crystal Palace reportedly agree a three-year deal with former Borussia Dortmund boss Lucien Favre, with the official announcement due within the next week.

Former Borussia Dortmund manager Lucien Favre has reportedly agreed a three-year deal with Crystal Palace to succeed Roy Hodgson at Selhurst Park.

Steve Parish has interviewed many candidates in his search for a new boss, including Nuno Espirito Santo, Frank Lampard and Eddie Howe among others, but Favre emerged as the frontrunner for the vacant managerial post.

The 63-year-old left BVB in December after two-and-a-half years in charge, following 110 games with the club and winning the German Super Cup during the 2019-20 campaign.

According to the Evening Standard, Favre's appointment in South London is dependent on securing a work permit, although Palace hope that process proves not to be overly complex and wish to make the announcement within the next week.

The Eagles look to have a transformative summer ahead of them as their new manager will have to decide upon the future of 11 first-team players whose contracts expire at the end of this month, including Gary Cahill, Joel Ward and Andros Townsend.

Palace kick off their 2021-22 Premier League season away at Chelsea on August 14.
