Crystal Palace manager Ian Holloway hails a "fantastic performance" from his players after they thrash Ipswich Town 5-0 in his opening game in charge at Selhurst Park.

Crystal Palace manager Ian Holloway has hailed his new side after they delivered a thumping 5-0 victory in his first match in charge.

Holloway watched Palace trounce Ipswich Town to go top of the Championship after Cardiff City slipped up at Charlton Athletic.

He told reporters: "It was a fantastic performance from start to finish and the great thing about this lot is they grind on.

"We want to continue that and if I can keep them enjoying what they've been doing, who knows what we can do? The energy around the ground is pretty sensational and I just can't wait to get in with them again.

"Some of things I've seen so far have been sensational. They're professional in their approach to everything and it's almost a 'pinch me, I'm dreaming' situation. But now it's up to me to produce."

Palace are unbeaten in their last 12 matches after starting the season with four successive defeats in all competitions.
