Schalke 04 not interested in Lukas Podolski, Andre Schurrle

Schalke 04 sporting director Horst Heldt reveals that the club are not interested in signing either Lukas Podolski or Andre Schurrle in the January transfer window.

Schalke 04 sporting director Horst Heldt has said that the Bundesliga club are not interested in signing either Lukas Podolski or Andre Schurrle in the January transfer window.

The Germany internationals have been linked with returns to their homeland after falling out of favour at Arsenal and Chelsea respectively.

However, Heldt has confirmed that neither player will be heading to Gelsenkirchen.

"We're not considering Andre Schurrle at all," he told Sport Bild.

"And the same goes for Xherdan Shaqiri and Lukas Podolski."

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has stated that he has no intention of allowing Podolski to leave the Emirates Stadium.
