Southampton are reportedly close to signing midfielder Oriol Romeu from Chelsea on a permanent deal.
The 23-year-old joined Chelsea from Barcelona for £5m in 2011 and broke into the first team under then-boss Andre Villas-Boas before suffering a long-term knee injury.
The Spaniard spent 2013-14 at Valencia and last season on loan at Stuttgart, and had been linked with a move to Leicester City earlier this summer.
However, The Independent reports that he is heading to Southampton today for a medical after the club agreed a fee with Chelsea.
Southampton lost Morgan Schneiderlin to Manchester United earlier this summer, and the report goes on to claim that Ronald Koeman's side could reinforce their midfield by completing the signing of Romeu by the end of the day.
