Report: Chelsea want Raphael Varane

Chelsea reportedly line up a move for Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane

Chelsea are reportedly lining up Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane to replace the Paris Saint-Germain-bound David Luiz.

The Brazilian defender will join the Ligue 1 champions when the transfer window opens after a £50m price was agreed between the two sides.

The Blues have now earmarked the France international to fill the void left by Luiz's exit, according to The Mirror.

It was Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho who gave Varane his Los Blancos debut, and the Portuguese coach is believed to be a big admirer of the youngster's talents.

Varane was part of the Real Madrid side that beat Atletico Madrid 4-1 in the Champions League final on Saturday.
