Newly-promoted Nottingham Forest join the race to sign Chelsea striker Armando Broja during the upcoming transfer window, according to a report.

Nottingham Forest have joined the race to sign Chelsea striker Armando Broja during the upcoming transfer window, according to a report.

Broja enjoyed a productive debut Premier League campaign on loan with Southampton this season, scoring six goals in 32 league appearances, of which only 21 were starts.

As a result of his fine form on the south coast, numerous sides have been interested in signing Broja on a permanent transfer, or another loan deal, should Chelsea sanction a move this summer.

Now according to a report from NottinghamshireLive, newly-promoted Forest are said to have joined the race for the Albanian, with Newcastle United, Everton and West Ham United also reportedly interested, along with several Serie A clubs.

The report outlines how Forest boss Steve Cooper is keen to bring in attacking reinforcements over the coming weeks, with only Brennan Johnson, Sam Surridge and Lyle Taylor the current forwards contracted ahead of the 2022-23 Premier League campaign.

The latter spent the second half of last season on loan at Birmingham City, whilst Lewis Grabban's contract at the City Ground is due to expire in June, and Keinan Davis and Philip Zinckernagel have departed following the completion of their loan spells with the Reds.

Meanwhile, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has recently spoken about his desire to have both Conor Gallagher and Broja as part of his plans in pre-season after the duo spent the past year on loan away from Stamford Bridge.
