Lyon 'keen on January swoop for Olivier Giroud'

Lyon are reportedly interested in signing Chelsea forward Olivier Giroud at the start of 2020.

The 33-year-old has only made seven appearances for the Blues during the 2019-20 campaign, finding the back of the net on just one occasion under the management of Frank Lampard.

The France international continues to be heavily linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge with his contract due to expire at the end of the current season.

Inter Milan and Juventus have both recently been mentioned as possible suitors, but according to FCInterNews, Lyon are also interested in a January deal.

The report claims that the Ligue 1 side have placed Giroud - without a goal in the Premier League this term - at the top of their wishlist for the winter transfer window.

The experienced striker is allegedly keen to secure first-team action in the second half of the season ahead of France's Euro 2020 campaign.
