Romelu Lukaku has reportedly informed Inter Milan that he is keen to pursue a transfer to Chelsea.
Earlier in the summer, both Lukaku and the Serie A suggested that they would continue their successful partnership into a third season.
However, the Blues have remained interested in the Belgium international at a time when they are looking to sign a high-profile name in the final third.
According to Sky Italia, Lukaku is now open to making a return to Stamford Bridge, nine years after his last appearance for the Blues.
While Inter have allegedly rejected an offer of £85.3m plus Marcos Alonso, it has been suggested that there is a deal to be done at £100m.
Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel was quizzed on speculation about Lukaku after his side posted a 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday night.
