Monaco reportedly open discussions to sign a Chelsea forward during the summer transfer window.

Chelsea are reportedly in discussions to sell one of their attacking players to Monaco.

The Blues are currently in the process of confirming the appointment of Leicester City's Enzo Maresca as the club's new head coach.

However, the club's recruitment team have such responsibility where they can continue to oversee incomings and outgoings ahead of 2024-25.

As it stands, the priority is to ensure that Chelsea meet the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules by the next accounting date of June 30.

Despite Chelsea's alleged stance of being confident over passing such criteria, sales are inevitable over the next month as they bid to get themselves back on a sound financial footing.

Co-owners Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital have a preference of selling homegrown talent in order to make pure profit on their books, resulting in speculation regarding a wide array of academy graduates.

Trevoh Chalobah and Conor Gallagher are both available for transfer with the club ready to assess any proposals that are put their way.

Broja attracting interest from France

According to L'Equipe, Monaco have entered discussions with the Premier League outfit regarding the signing of Armando Broja.

Although the Albania international initially started 2023-24 with Chelsea, a failure to rediscover his best form after injury led to a January loan switch to Fulham.

Chelsea were able to benefit financially from the deal, but only courtesy of the 22-year-old enduring a desperately frustrating period with the Cottagers.

Broja would not make a single start for Fulham and was instead reduced to 83 minutes of football spread across eight substitute outings.

As a result, Broja is back at his parent club, yet it appears Chelsea may still be able to cash in on one of their former top prospects.

What fee is realistic for Broja?

While Broja still has four years remaining on his long-term Chelsea contract, Chelsea may not be able to recoup the kind of fee that they could have previously generated for the forward.

Across spells with Chelsea, Southampton and Fulham, just eight goals and two assists have come from 66 appearances in the Premier League, Broja's progress having not been helped by a serious knee injury.

Nevertheless, with Monaco having secured Champions League football, they will expect to pay a considerable fee, potentially in the region of £20m.
