Chelsea's John Swift extends Brentford stay

Chelsea midfielder John Swift agrees to remain on loan with Championship side Brentford until the end of the season.

Brentford have announced that John Swift has decided to remain on loan with the club until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old arrived at Griffin Park from Chelsea on a four-week deal in October and he soon extended his stay until this month.

Having made 15 Championship appearances since then, all parties have now agreed for Swift to remain with the Bees for the remainder of the campaign.

"John has developed a lot as a player in his time with Brentford. He is someone I knew about when he was playing in League One last year and he has improved since then," manager Dean Smith told the club's official website.

"He also has lots of scope to develop further. It is great to have him as part of the squad for the rest of the season."

The midfielder has found the net three times for Brentford, the most recent of which came against Cardiff City last month.
