Borussia Monchengladbach want Chelsea youngster Andreas Christensen

Having taken Andreas Christensen on loan in the summer, Borussia Monchengladbach are keen to sign the Chelsea defender on a permanent deal.

Borussia Monchengladbach sporting director Max Eberl has confirmed that his club are keen to sign Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen on a permanent basis.

The 19-year-old joined Gladbach from the West Londoners in the summer on a season-long loan deal.

Having made 17 Bundesliga appearances since then, Gladbach are now eager to recruit the Dane on a long-term contract.

"Our intention is to try and get into talks with Chelsea in the summer," Eberl told Kicker.

"Andreas fulfils everything we've seen in him. We are delighted that we were able to take him on loan without any ifs and buts."

Christensen, who joined Chelsea from Brondby in 2012, has made three senior appearances for the Premier League side.
