Thiago Silva will reportedly stay on at Chelsea for at least another season as both parties have agreed to trigger an extension in the defender's contract.
The veteran centre-back, who will turn 37 later this year, joined the Blues on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain in August 2020.
Silva only penned a 12-month deal at the time, but that contained the option of a further year if both parties were happy.
According to football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, talks have been ongoing between the Brazilian and Chelsea over prolonging his stay at Stamford Bridge.
An announcement is said to be close, with Silva now set to be under contract with the Blues until June 2022.
Romano also claims that discussions with N'Golo Kante and Jorginho over fresh terms will soon begin.
