Chelsea are reportedly contemplating whether to make an approach for Barcelona midfielder Gavi over the coming months.
Despite only turning 17 years of age in August, Gavi is already regarded as a key player at Camp Nou with 20 starts being made in all competitions this season.
However, while the teenager is said to be committed to his boyhood club, Barcelona are yet to negotiate a pay-rise to match his greater status.
According to El Nacional, Chelsea are monitoring the situation, aware that Gavi currently possesses a £42m release clause in his existing deal.
The report suggests that the world champions are more likely than not to make an offer for the Spaniard, despite the likelihood of the player remaining at Camp Nou.
A further report from ESPN says that there is a desire from all parties to extend Gavi's contract at the Spanish club.
