Valencia announce the signing of Chelsea forward Michy Batshuayi on a season-long loan deal.

Valencia have announced the signing of Chelsea forward Michy Batshuayi on a season-long loan deal.

Chelsea faced heading into the new Premier League campaign with four strikers available to Maurizio Sarri, but the Italian has stated his desire to trim his squad at Stamford Bridge.

Batshuayi had been linked with another temporary exit from the West Londoners, and it has now been confirmed that the Belgium international will spend the next campaign in La Liga.

The 24-year-old has only been given 18 starts since joining Chelsea ahead of 2016-17, and the player spent the second half of the last campaign with Borussia Dortmund.

Valencia had been looking for a new forward having earned a place in this season's Champions League.
