Chelsea are reportedly in talks to sign Gonzalo Higuain on loan from Juventus until the end of the season.
Blues boss Maurizio Sarri has prioritised bringing in a new striker during the January window after losing faith in Alvaro Morata to lead the line.
Higuain has been constantly linked with a switch to Stamford Bridge in recent weeks, but the Argentina international is currently on loan with AC Milan, which has complicated negotiations.
According to The Telegraph, however, the 31-year-old's brother Nicolas was in London on Thursday to help broker a deal, with Chelsea hoping to take the striker on loan until the summer and then discuss a permanent deal.
The report suggests that Morata will be granted a Stamford Bridge exit before the window closes after attracting interest from numerous clubs, including Spanish side Sevilla.
Sarri worked with Higuain at Napoli prior to the prolific attacker's controversial move to Juventus, who supposedly value him at £30m.
