Chelsea have reportedly shortlisted Charlton Athletic youngster James Beadle as a potential number one in the future.
With Edouard Mendy having established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the world during his time at Stamford Bridge, the Senegalese appears to have earned his spot in the team for as long as he desires.
However, on the same weekend where their academy graduates starred during a 7-0 win over Norwich City in the Premier League, the Blues are said to be looking for Mendy's long-term replacement.
According to The Sun, Chelsea have become admirers of Beadle, who has already earned a call-up to the England Under-18s squad.
The 17-year-old is yet to sign a professional contract at The Valley, leaving Charlton increasingly vulnerable when it comes to trying to retain the services of the prospect.
While the Addicks are allegedly hopeful of receiving in the region of £400,000, such a fee will not put off Chelsea and other interested parties such as Brighton & Hove Albion.
