Barcelona to bid for David Luiz?

La Liga champions Barcelona are reportedly poised to swoop for Chelsea defender David Luiz in the New Year.

Barcelona are reportedly poised to swoop for Chelsea defender David Luiz in the January transfer window.

The La Liga champions were linked with a move for the Brazil international during the summer, but they were unable to agree a fee with the London club.

However, Luiz has featured in just five Premier League games under Jose Mourinho this season and this appears to have given Barca fresh hope of agreeing a deal for the 26-year-old.

According to the Daily Star, the Catalan giants are preparing to launch a £29m bid for Luiz in the New Year.

Luiz has three and a half years left to run on his current contract at Stamford Bridge.
