Emerson Palmieri's agent says that Chelsea will not allow his client to leave Stamford Bridge on loan in January.

Emerson Palmieri's agent has insisted that Chelsea will not allow his client to leave Stamford Bridge on a loan deal during the January transfer window.

The 26-year-old has only made one Premier League appearance for the Blues this season, having fallen down the pecking order following Ben Chilwell's arrival from Leicester City.

A number of Italian clubs, including Inter Milan, have been linked with the Italy international in recent weeks, but the defender's agent Fernando Garcia has ruled out a loan move for his client.

"Absolutely not (will Emerson leave on loan). Chelsea eventually want to monetise his departure. Not having liquidity is a problem," Garcia told FCInterNews.

Despite playing just eight minutes of Premier League football this season, Emerson did feature in four of Chelsea's six matches in the group stage of the Champions League.

The former Roma full-back has 18 months left to run on his current deal with Frank Lampard's side.
