Manager Jose Mourinho has insisted that he still has the backing of Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich.
The champions have suffered eight defeats in the Premier League already this season, which has left them in 14th position with 15 points to their name.
That form has resulted in suggestions that Mourinho's days at Stamford Bridge are numbered, but ahead of the crucial Champions League group encounter against his former club Porto, the 52-year-old has stressed that Abramovich's support in him remains in place.
"I did lots of good things in this club for the owner to know the quality I have. If the owner shows me that belief twice - one when he brought me back to the club, the second time when he gave me a new contract, for four years - I don't think the owner is a person to change with the wind," he told reporters.
"I know the wind with the results is an important wind. I know this wind is really strong, because the results in the Premier League are really bad, but I think the owner knows who I am, what I gave to the club and the owner believes I am the right person to do the job."
Chelsea will progress to the knockout stages of the Champions League if they avoid defeat against their Portuguese opposition.
