Roberto Mancini: 'Rafael Benitez can't change Chelsea in two days'

Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini says that he has never seen fans react so negatively to a new manager like Chelsea supporters did to Rafael Benitez yesterday.

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini believes that new Chelsea boss Rafael Benitez will need time to turn things around at Stamford Bridge.

The former Liverpool boss was met with a chorus of boos when he took to the touchline ahead of the Blues' goalless draw with Man City yesterday.

"Have I ever seen a new manager treated like that? No," the Daily Star quotes Mancini as saying. "I don't think Rafa is a magician. I don't think that in two days he can change everything."

The Spaniard was appointed as the new Chelsea boss on an interim basis following the dismissal of Roberto Di Matteo on Wednesday.
