Report: Juventus shortlist Ramires, Gundogan in case Draxler bid fails

Juventus are to keep tabs on Chelsea's Ramires and Borussia Dortmund's Ilkay Gundogan in case they miss out on main target Julian Draxler, according to reports.

Juventus are keeping tabs on Chelsea's Ramires and Borussia Dortmund's Ilkay Gundogan, according to reports in Italy.

Rumours have suggested that the Serie A champions have already made contact with Chelsea over a potential deal for Ramires, but Italian outlet TuttoJuve now claims that the Torino side are only considering a move for the Brazil international if a deal cannot be reached with Schalke 04 for Julian Draxler.

Dortmund's box-to-box central midfielder Ilkay Gundogan is also said to be on the shortlist of Juve CEO Beppe Marotta and sporting director Fabio Guild should they fail to land the 21-year-old Germany international.

While it has been claimed that Juve manager Massimiliano Allegri is mainly targeting a new playmaker following the departure of Andrea Pirlo, the report suggests that the profiles and personalities of Ramires and Gundogan would act as suitable back-up.
