Chelsea star Eden Hazard has revealed that if it were up to him, Kevin De Bruyne would still be at Stamford Bridge.
Blues manager Jose Mourinho sanctioned the sale of De Bruyne to Wolfsburg last summer after he failed to cement a regular starting spot.
Since his move to Germany, the 23-year-old has scored nine goals and made 16 assists.
"He is a great player," Hazard told L'Equipe. "Mourinho decided to let him go and not play him. It was not my decision, even though I know very well that he could play at Chelsea because he has tremendous qualities.
"I think at Chelsea, you have more pressure than Wolfsburg. It's a shame he's gone but he'll have a successful career."
De Bruyne spent loan stints at Genk and Werder Bremen during a two-year spell with Chelsea.
