Chelsea manager Antonio Conte says that he 'always shows respect' to his opponents following Sunday's touchline antics against Manchester United.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has insisted that he never shows disrespect to his opponents following his touchline antics against Manchester United on Sunday.

Conte's counterpart Jose Mourinho appeared to be unimpressed after the Italian wildly celebrated his side's fourth goal in a 4-0 triumph at Stamford Bridge.

TV cameras showed Mourinho speaking in Conte's ear after the final whistle, but the Chelsea boss has refused to comment on what was said to him.

Instead, the 47-year-old claimed that he has always been "passionate" in nature, but would never disrespect a rival.

"I have a history and you can see in my history, my past and my behaviour on the bench - I am a passionate man," Conte told reporters in a press conference. "I showed this in the past and I want to stay very close to my players.

"I always show respect for the opponent, for the other teams, for the other clubs and my history speaks for me."

Meanwhile, Chelsea are preparing for tomorrow night's EFL Cup clash against West Ham United at the London Stadium.
