Linesman Dave Bryan is dropped from his duties after failing to spot that both of Chelsea's goals against Wigan Athletic were offside.

The linesman that failed to spot that both of Chelsea's goals against Wigan Athletic on Saturday were offside has been dropped from his next match.

Dave Bryan was due to be part of the refereeing team that is taking charge of the Premier League fixture between Blackburn Rovers and Liverpool tomorrow night.

However, after failing to spot that Chelsea duo Branislav Ivanovic and Juan Mata were beyond the last Wigan defender, Bryan has been relieved of his duties at Ewood Park by the Premier League Match Officials organisation.

After the match Wigan boss Roberto Di Matteo described Bryan's performance at Stamford Bridge as "horrific".

The match ended in a 2-1 win for Chelsea.
