Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez claims that his side deserved a point against Chelsea on Saturday.

Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez has blasted the officials for awarding Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic the opening goal in Saturday's encounter.

Chelsea triumphed 2-1, but replays showed that their first strike through Ivanovic should have been called offside, and Martinez bemoaned the linesman's "horrific" display.

"I'm really disappointed that we couldn't get what the players deserved today. I felt that we stopped Chelsea from playing most of the time," Martinez told Sky Sports News.

"The linesman had a horrific day, unfortunately just against us and it's a real shame, a feeling of injustice for my players."

The result leaves Wigan in 19th in the Premier League table.
