Spanish international Juan Mata hails the belief that Chelsea showed against Wigan Athletic this afternoon.

Juan Mata has hailed Chelsea's belief following today's 2-1 victory over Wigan Athletic at Stamford Bridge.

The match looked to be heading for a 1-1 draw until Spanish international Mata reacted quickest inside the area to hand the Blues all three points in stoppage time.

Reflecting on the victory, Mata conceded that his team got their share of luck.

"We fought until the last minute for the three points, having a lot of chances to score," he told BBC Sport.

"We got a little lucky in the last minute and the points are important for us. Chelsea never give up and today we did it."

The win lifted Chelsea to fifth in the Premier League table.
