Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech has stressed the importance of following their win over Manchester City with another one against Wigan this weekend.
Cech, 29, saw his side come from behind to beat league leaders City on Monday, but has warned his teammates that their good work will be undone if they can't get three points at the DW Stadium.
"Beating City was important of course because it enabled us to get a bit closer," Cech told Chelsea's official website.
"City are seven points in front so they still have an advantage, but suddenly the pressure from the teams below is a bit bigger so let's see how they cope with it. We need three points and with City playing Arsenal this weekend, two teams who are around us, let's see what happens.
"We can only take advantage of any result if we win our own game, Monday's win will count for nothing unless we beat Wigan. For them any point will be a great result because we are the favourites for the game, they will try to get whatever they can but it's really up to us, if our attitude is right we should get the three points."
If results go their way Chelsea could finish the weekend just four points behind Manchester City.
