Chelsea boss Rafael Benitez believes that participation in the FIFA Club World Cup will benefit his side.

Chelsea interim manager Rafael Benitez has claimed that Chelsea's trip to Japan for the FIFA Club World Cup will benefit his side.

Benitez made a poor start to his time as Chelsea boss, but two wins in their last two games has eased the early pressure on the former Liverpool boss.

The 52-year-old admits that there is still a lot to work on with his side, but believes that the trip to Japan will give them precious time to do exactly that.

"The team still can improve, so it's a question of time," said Benitez.

"Training sessions before games, you have just two or three sessions and you cannot improve everything that you want to improve.

"But we will have more time, maybe, in Japan, three days in the hotel. We can talk, we can analyse more things and little by little, they will get to the level at which we want to see them."

Chelsea's first match in the Club World Cup will come on December 13 against Mexico's Monterrey.
