Agent: 'Jorginho agreed to join Manchester City'

The agent of Chelsea midfielder Jorginho reveals that his client agreed to join Manchester City this summer, before subsequently moving to Stamford Bridge.

The agent of Chelsea midfielder Jorginho has revealed that his client agreed to join Manchester City before his move to Stamford Bridge this summer.

Jorginho was Pep Guardiola's number one transfer target during the recent window, but Chelsea hijacked the deal and Jorginho subsequently ended up following manager Maurizio Sarri from Napoli.

The Italy international's agent Joao Santos confirmed that the player had agreed terms with the Premier League champions, but that City and Napoli failed to come to an agreement before Chelsea swooped in.

"It was all done with Jorginho. There was an agreement, but there was no agreement between the clubs. All parties have to agree, and one did not," Santos told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.

"Then Chelsea asked what the situation was after Sarri arrived and Jorginho went to London. He's really enjoying it at Chelsea, the team is on a roll and has won four matches out of four.

"It's a great start. Going to Chelsea was a unique opportunity, the career of a player is very short and now we hope for the best."

Jorginho has played the full 90 minutes in all four of Chelsea's Premier League games so far this season.
