Chelsea team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Manchester City

Sports Mole rounds up all of Chelsea's injury and suspension news ahead of Sunday's Premier League meeting with Manchester City.

After ending 2020 with one win from five Premier League matches, Chelsea will be looking to begin a new year with victory over Manchester City on Sunday.

The Blues' disappointing form continued with a 1-1 draw at home to Aston Villa on Monday, making it four points collected from the last 15 on offer.

Frank Lampard's men do at least have some time to rest up ahead of the visit of Man City, whose clash with Everton this week was postponed due to a coronavirus outbreak in their camp.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Chelsea's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their meeting with the Citizens.

Hakim Ziyech

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: January 3 (vs. Manchester City)

Chelsea's poor run of form has coincided with Hakim Ziyech's absence from the side. The Morocco international has missed their last six games in all competitions, but Lampard revealed after the Villa draw that he is confident Ziyech will be in contention to face City.

Reece James

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Knee/hamstring
Possible return date: January 3 (vs. Manchester City)

Reece James has been carrying a hamstring injury in recent weeks, but it was a knee complaint that kept him out of the meeting with Villa. Chelsea will continue to monitor the young full-back before making a decision on his availability for Sunday's match.

CHELSEA'S SUSPENSION LIST

Chelsea have no players suspended for their clash with City.
