Manchester City team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Chelsea

Sports Mole rounds up all of Manchester City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash with Chelsea.

Manchester City are set to kick off 2021 with a trip to Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday.

The Citizens' clash with Everton this week was postponed due to a coronavirus outbreak in their camp, however, putting this clash at Stamford Bridge in jeopardy.

Pep Guardiola's men will enter the game in good form should it go ahead, having gone 10 matches without defeat, winning each of the last three.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the meeting with Chelsea.

Gabriel Jesus

Status: Out
Type of injury: Coronavirus
Possible return date: Unknown

City confirmed on Christmas Day that Gabriel Jesus has tested positive for coronavirus, meaning that he is self-isolating and is therefore not expected to be in contention to face Chelsea.

Kyle Walker

Status: Out
Type of injury: Coronavirus
Possible return date: Unknown

Kyle Walker is the other City player to have been ruled out with COVID-19. It is not known when his period of self-isolating began, but he is not likely to play any part against Chelsea.

Eric Garcia

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: January 3 (vs. Chelsea)

Eric Garcia sustained a muscular problem in the win over Marseille on December 9 and has missed City's last five matches as a result. Guardiola was hopeful of having the defender back in early January, so he has a chance of at least being part of the squad next weekend.

MANCHESTER CITY'S SUSPENSION LIST

Man City have no players suspended for this match.
