Half of Manchester City team catch coronavirus?

Up to half of Manchester City's team reportedly contract coronavirus, with their game against Everton on Monday night being postponed hours before kickoff.

Manchester City's match with Everton on Monday evening was postponed after half of the Citizens' team reportedly tested positive for coronavirus.

The showdown at Goodison Park was called off only a few hours before kickoff, with City confirming that "a number of positive cases" had been reported in the latest round of testing.

The four-time Premier League winners had initially revealed on Christmas Day that Gabriel Jesus and Kyle Walker - as well as two staff members - had contracted COVID-19, but those positive tests did not impact their Boxing Day clash with Newcastle United.

Now, The Sun claims that up to half of Pep Guardiola's side may be infected with the virus, with a hotel stay for last week's EFL Cup trip to Arsenal a possible cause of the outbreak.

Everton have since confirmed that they will be seeking full disclosure after Monday night's game was cancelled, and Man City have not yet revealed which other players have tested positive.
