Manchester United could reportedly battle RB Leipzig for the signature of Paris Saint-Germain striker Randal Kolo Muani, with the Frenchman expected to be on the move during the January transfer window.
The 26-year-old has only managed two goals and one assist in 14 appearances for PSG this season, and he was not in their squad for the Ligue 1 clash against Lyon at the weekend.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Kolo Muani will be allowed to leave PSG in the middle of the 2024-25 campaign, as he does not feature in the plans of the club's head coach Luis Enrique.
Man United have been linked with the France international, as the Red Devils look to boost their attacking options in January due to the struggles of Joshua Zirkzee and likely exit of Marcus Rashford.
According to Football Insider, the English club's strongest competition is expected to arrive from Leipzig, with the Bundesliga outfit also keeping a close eye on the striker's situation ahead of a potential move.

Man United, Leipzig 'could battle' for Kolo Muani
The report claims that Man United would only be interested in a loan deal at this moment in time, even if Rashford moves on.
There have also been suggestions that Zirkzee could leave in January, with the Netherlands international struggling to make his mark since arriving from Bologna during the summer transfer window.
Juventus, Inter Milan and Napoli are thought to be among the clubs keen on Zirkzee, who has only scored three times for the 20-time English champions during a difficult first half of the 2024-25 campaign.
Rashford, meanwhile, has revealed that he is open to a move away from Man United after being left out of the squad for the Manchester derby last weekend; it is believed that offers of around £40m would be considered for the academy product, with PSG at the head of the queue, potentially opening up an agreement which would see Kolo Muani move in the opposite direction.

Would Kolo Muani be a good signing for Man United?
Kolo Muani had an impressive spell at Eintracht Frankfurt before making the move to PSG, with the striker managing 26 goals in 50 appearances for the German side, including 15 Bundesliga goals during the 2022-23 campaign.
The forward only managed nine goals in 40 appearances for PSG last term, though, and he has struggled during the current campaign, netting just twice in 10 outings in France's top flight.
Kolo Muani's career has stalled, but Man United were interested in him before a switch to PSG occurred, and if a loan deal for the second half of the season could be arranged, then it could be an inspired signing for Ruben Amorim's side, as there is no question that Rasmus Hojlund needs some help in the final third of the field.
